This prestigious award is given annually by the Coker College Alumni Association and is presented to a graduate who has reached an outstanding level of achievement in his or her profession.

    Coker’s Cecelia Coker Bell Gallery Presents the Work of Kathleen Thum

    The Cecelia Coker Bell Gallery presents the work of artist Kathleen Thum. Her exhibit of drawings, paintings, and wall installations, titled “OilWorks,” opens Monday February 4, with a reception in the Cecelia Coker Bell gallery from 7-8pm. Light refreshments will be served, and the reception is free and open to the public. The show runs through March 4, 2019.

    On the morning of Saturday, December 15, during its 2018 winter commencement ceremony, Coker College conferred bachelor’s degrees on 63 graduates. In a separate hooding and commencement ceremony on the evening of December 14, Coker College conferred master’s degrees on 52 graduate students.

    Coker College is now accepting applications for its Excellence in Teaching Scholarship for summer 2019, open to all educators in South Carolina who have been named Teacher of the Year and wish to pursue a Master's of Education at Coker College. Coker offers two M.Ed. programs, both of which are entirely online programs––the Master of Education in Literacy Studies and Master of Education in Curriculum and Instructional Technology.

    Coker College Granted Funding from NSF to Extend Its STEM Scholars in Biology Program to Include a Second Cohort

    Coker College was recently granted additional funding (approximately $682,000) from the National Science Foundation’s Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (NSF S-STEM) program to add a second cohort to the college’s STEM Scholars in Biology (SSB) program for high-achieving students interested in pursuing careers in STEM fields and who are in need of financial assistance to attend college.
