Hartsville, S.C. – April 9, 2018 – Registration is now open for Coker College’s annual summer theatre camps for kids of all ages. Coker College will host two day camps this summer––“Disney’s The AristoCats KIDS” and “Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, Jr.”
The “Disney’s The AristoCats KIDS” camp, for children ages 6 to 11, will be held Monday through Friday, June 18-29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Everybody wants to be a cat in Disney's stage adaptation of the animated classic motion picture. Based on the beloved Disney animated film, and featuring a jazzy, upbeat score, “Disney’s The AristoCats KIDS” is a non-stop thrill ride of feline fun, complete with unbelievable twists and turns. Campers will present a staged production on Thursday, June 28 and Friday, June 29. The deadline to register for “Disney’s The AristoCats KIDS” is May 31, 2018.
The “Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, Jr.” camp, for children ages 12 and up, will be held Monday through Friday, July 9-20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The practically perfect nanny takes center stage in this supercalifragilisticexpialidocious adventure based on the award-winning Broadway musical and classic Walt Disney film. “Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, Jr.” is an enchanting mixture of irresistible story, unforgettable songs and breathtaking dance numbers. Campers will present a staged production on Thursday, July 19 and Friday, July 20. The deadline to register for “Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, Jr.” is July 2, 2018.
Coker’s summer theatre camps provide instruction in a broad spectrum of theatre subjects through participation in games, music, dance and rehearsals. No prior theatre experience or auditions are required.
Tuition is $225 for each camp, and campers who wish to perform in the production must attend both weeks of camp. The registration and tuition payment forms are available online at http://coker.edu/theatre-camp. Tuition can also be paid by a check made payable to Coker College Theatre Summer Camp. Space is limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.
“Disney’s The AristoCats KIDS” and “Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, Jr.” are presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre (MTI).
