Coker University will host its annual President’s Holiday Social on Saturday, December 6, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Drengaelen House, 210 East Home Avenue in Hartsville.
The drop-in event will bring together alumni, faculty, staff, and community members for an evening of food, festive cocktails, and live music. The gathering has become a cherished Coker tradition, providing a relaxed way to celebrate the season and connect with others who share the university’s mission.
This year’s event will benefit the Rev. John Foster III Scholarship, honoring the longtime faculty member and founding director of the university’s Center for Diversity, Interfaith, and Inclusion Education. The center, recently renamed the John Foster III Center for Belonging and Community, continues his vision of a campus where every student feels valued and included.
Proceeds from the event will go directly toward the Rev. John Foster III Scholarship in recognition of the center’s recent renaming.
“Every year, the Holiday Social is a great opportunity to come together as a community,” said Dr. Natalie Harder, President of Coker University. “We’re especially pleased that this year’s proceeds will support the scholarship named in Rev. Foster’s honor. It’s a meaningful way to celebrate the season and continue his legacy.”
Tickets are $50 per person, with all proceeds directed to the Rev. John Foster III Scholarship fund. Guests are asked to RSVP and purchase tickets by December 1, 2025. You can also buy tickets by contacting Jennifer Rhodes at 843-383-8384 or jrhodes@coker.edu.
