McLeod Health has made a generous $75,000 donation to Coker University’s nursing program. This investment will strengthen hands-on learning opportunities, enhance clinical simulation spaces, and support scholarships for nursing students.

The gift reflects McLeod Health’s continued commitment to healthcare education and workforce development in the Pee Dee region. By supporting Coker’s nursing program, McLeod is helping prepare the next generation of skilled, compassionate nurses who will serve communities across South Carolina and beyond.

"On behalf of our students and faculty, I extend heartfelt thanks for this generous donation. McLeod's ongoing support strengthens our mission to educate compassionate, skilled nurses who will shape the future of healthcare," shared Dr. Eileen Klang, DNP, R.N. Dr. Klang is the interim dean of Coker University’s College of Health Professions.

The donation will be used to expand Coker’s nursing simulation lab, fund student scholarships, and support program growth as demand for nurses continues to rise.

“We are deeply grateful to McLeod Health for their partnership and this impactful investment in our future nurses,” Vice President of Advancement Braden Shain said. “Their generosity empowers students to pursue their passion for nursing without the burden of financial stress, and it enhances our ability to deliver exceptional education. Together, we’re building a stronger, more robust healthcare workforce for our community and state of South Carolina.”

Coker and McLeod share a history of collaborating to improve access to healthcare and education in the region. This gift is another step forward in that partnership, one that directly impacts students and the communities they will go on to serve.
