First-time freshmen can now apply to Coker University through the Common Application (Common App), a platform used by over 1,000 institutions globally. This change aligns with Coker’s commitment to removing barriers for students by making the application process more accessible and maintaining a no-fee policy.

Research supports the benefits of this move: Institutions that adopt the Common App often see an increase in applications. A study by the National Bureau of Economic Research found a 10% rise in applications after colleges joined the platform.

“Our decision to join the Common App reflects our mission to simplify the college application process and expand opportunities for students,” said Katherine Davis, Vice President for Strategic Communications. “We’re also deeply grateful to the admissions team for their hard work in implementing this new platform.”

In addition to this launch for first-time freshmen, Coker University plans to extend the same features to transfer students this spring. By July 1, all undergraduate applicants can use the Common App platform, ensuring a seamless application experience for every student.

The Common App is used by over one million students annually, one-third of whom are first-generation college applicants. This trusted platform simplifies the college application process, enabling students to apply to multiple institutions through a single application.

Prospective students are encouraged to explore this streamlined application option. For more information, visit Coker University's admissions page or the Common App website.
