During what has been a difficult year for many, Coker University’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously at their fall meeting to freeze tuition for the 2021-2022 academic year. In previous years, the university allowed for a standard, annual incremental tuition increase. 

“Many students and their families are experiencing hardships related to the Covid pandemic, and the Board hopes this tuition freeze will help ease some of the economic uncertainty,” says Angie Stanland, Chairman of Coker University’s Board of Trustees. 

The university awards approximately $14 million annually in institutional aid in an effort to make a Coker education more accessible. Scholarship aid programs such as Coker Within Reach, which helps reduce tuition by at least 50% for qualifying students from neighboring counties, and Coker’s STEM Scholars in Biology, a unique scholarship opportunity that helps students interested in majoring in biology who need financial assistance to attend college, have made a bachelor’s degree more affordable and attainable for many.
