Coker University is launching several new academic programs, continuing the institution’s commitment to innovation, excellence, and student success. Beginning in Fall 2025, students will have access to exciting new concentrations in both the School of Visual and Performing Arts and the College of Humanities and Sciences, as well as new undergraduate and graduate degree programs that meet the evolving needs of today’s learners.
New Art Concentrations: Illustration and Animation
In response to growing interest in visual storytelling and creative technologies, Coker University is introducing two concentrations within its Studio Art major: Illustration and Animation. These programs will provide students with the technical skills, conceptual frameworks, and professional preparation needed to succeed in fields ranging from game design and film to publishing and advertising.
New Biology Concentration: Pre-Veterinary Science
Coker’s Biology major now includes a Pre-Veterinary Science concentration designed for students aspiring to careers in veterinary medicine. This tailored curriculum provides a strong foundation in animal biology, chemistry, and clinical practices, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for veterinary school and related fields in health science.
New Undergraduate Degree: Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre
Building on Coker’s rich tradition in the performing arts, the university will now offer a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Musical Theatre. This pre-professional program offers intensive training in acting, singing, and dance, while also incorporating a strong liberal arts foundation. Students will benefit from personalized instruction, dynamic performance opportunities, and connections to industry professionals.
New Graduate Degree: Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Coker is also launching its Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. Designed for working professionals and aspiring business leaders, the program emphasizes ethical leadership, strategic thinking, and global perspectives. Offered in a flexible format, the MBA will empower graduates to advance their careers and make meaningful contributions in a competitive business landscape.
