      Coker University proudly announces the recipients of the 2025 Alumni Association Awards, which recognize outstanding alumni and community members who have demonstrated notable career achievements, service, and leadership.

      Distinguished Alumni Service Award: Nichole Gibson ’04

      Nichole Gibson, a 2004 graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, has dedicated over 25 years to community outreach. Currently a Community Outreach Advocate in the Pee Dee region, she has led initiatives such as back-to-school fairs and homeless support programs. Her service extends to numerous boards, including the Junior League of Florence and the Greater Darlington County Chamber of Commerce, to positively impact her community.

      Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award: Amy Hansen ’10

      Amy Hansen, a 2010 graduate in Psychology and Criminology, has significantly impacted forensic psychology through her dedicated work. As the lead Forensic Interviewer at the Fayetteville Child Advocacy Center, she has conducted over 533 forensic interviews with children who are alleged victims of abuse or witnesses to violent crimes. Her work has helped ensure justice and protection for children while training professionals in forensic interview protocols.

      Outstanding Young Alumni Award: Jennifer Crocker Roberts ’05

      Jennifer Crocker Roberts earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications in 2005 and has devoted her career to education. Currently serving as a literacy coach at Jonesville Elementary/Middle School, Jennifer has earned JEMS Teacher of the Year (2012-2013) and JEMS Distinguished Literacy Teacher (2022-2023). A leader in the field of literacy education, she continues to inspire young minds and advocate for effective teaching practices.

       

      Special Recognition Award: Dan Moses

      Dan Moses, a distinguished entrepreneur and community leader, is being honored with Coker University's Special Recognition Award in acknowledgment of his unwavering dedication and support of Coker. While not an alumnus, Moses has profoundly impacted the university through his efforts in organizing fundraisers, catering events, and providing meals for students and athletic teams. Outside of Coker, he has achieved significant success in aerospace metals distribution, real estate, and hospitality, most notably as the owner of the acclaimed Blind Pig Pub. His generosity and leadership have earned him widespread recognition, and his ongoing contributions continue to shape both industries and communities.

      "We are incredibly proud of these outstanding alumni and community members who exemplify the values of Coker University through their careers, leadership, and service," said Jennifer Rhodes, Director of Alumni Engagement. "Their achievements inspire current and future generations of Coker students to make meaningful contributions to their communities and professions."

      The award recipients will be honored at Coker’s Alumni Day on April 12, 2025.
