Coker University is thrilled to announce that it has reached its fundraising goal to construct a state-of-the-art baseball hitting facility. Thanks to the generous support of alumni, donors, and the community, $419,711 has been raised, ensuring the project can move forward as planned.

The new baseball-hitting facility, a testament to the dedication and passion of the Coker University community, is set to revolutionize the training and performance of Coker's baseball athletes. Its modern enhancements will serve as an invaluable tool for player development, ensuring the Cobras' continued competitiveness in NCAA Division II athletics. This achievement is a direct result of your support and belief in our mission, and we couldn't be more proud to share this success with you.

Dr. Natalie Harder, President of Coker University, and Fico Kondla, Head Baseball coach, expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming support: " We are deeply grateful to our Baseball alumni and everyone who contributed to this campaign. The new hitting facility will be a game-changer for our baseball program, offering our student-athletes top-notch resources to hone their skills. This achievement reflects the strong community spirit and commitment to excellence that defines Coker University."

The fundraising campaign, launched earlier last year, received contributions from various stakeholders, including alumni, local businesses, and friends of the University. Iconic Coker baseball coach and dedicated University supporter Dave Schmotzer added, “We extend our special thanks to our generous alumni, whose significant gifts were instrumental in reaching the fundraising target. Coker is a special fraternity of guys who have kept in touch with each other and continue supporting the next generation. Also, thanks to Dr. Harder for her leadership and support of this vision.”

Coker University's athletic director, Dr. Lynn Griffin, also expressed her excitement, "the completion of this project will significantly impact our baseball program. Our athletes and coaches are eager to use the new facility, which will elevate our training capabilities and overall performance."

Construction of the new hitting facility is scheduled to begin in late summer, and it is expected to be completed before the start of the Spring 2025 season. The university plans to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening, with details to be announced as the date approaches.

Coker University remains committed to providing exceptional athletic programs and facilities that support its students' academic and athletic pursuits. This fundraising campaign's success underscores the Coker community's strength and unity in achieving shared goals.
