    New Faculty Members Join Coker University

    Dr. Susan Daniels Henderson, Provost and Dean of Faculty of Coker University, recently announced the addition of three new faculty members: Jasmine Baetz, Charlie Domahidi, and Jesse Galas.

     

    “The University is grateful for the experience and expertise our new faculty members bring to the Coker community,” said Dr. Henderson. “Our dedicated faculty enrich the lives of Coker’s students, and we are excited about the contributions our newest members will bring.”

     

    Baetz joins Coker as Assistant Professor of Art. Baetz specializes in clay and other materials, public art, feminist methodologies, and anti-racist pedagogy. Her work has been exhibited all over the eastern United States, Colorado, and British Columbia, and she was the recipient of a Community Project Grant by the Boulder (CO) Arts Commission. Baetz received her B.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Toronto, her B.F.A. in 3D Fine Arts from Massachusetts College of Art & Design in Boston, and her M.F.A. in Ceramics from Colorado University in Boulder.

     

    Domahidi joins Coker as Assistant Professor of Criminology. Domahidi specializes in immigration and inequalities within the criminal justice system, and is a member of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. Domahidi received their B.A. and M.S. in Criminal Justice from Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and will soon receive their Ph.D. in Criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, Pennsylvania. 

     

    Galas joins Coker as Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre. A professional actor/singer for over 25 years in the United States and abroad, Galas specializes in truthful acting, movement for actors, stage combat, intimacy direction, and musical theatre. She is a member of the Association of Theatre Movement Educators, Theatre Communications Group, Society of American Fight Directors, and the Southeastern Theatre Conference. Galas received her B.A. in Theatre from University of Tennessee in Knoxville and her M.F.A. in Acting from Ohio University.
