Kendra and Luke are two of only 30 students selected from approximately 12,000 Enactus student members nationwide.

Kendra is a regional finalist in the Human Resources Leader of the Year category. During the 2017-2018 academic year, Kendra served as the Executive Council member for Recruitment and Team Functions. In this role, she oversaw the annual nomination and interview process for new team members and coordinated formal and informal team meetings throughout the year to keep the team performing at a high level of success. After graduating from Coker, Kendra will be attending the University of Indiana working toward a Master of Science in Biotechnology.

Luke is a regional finalist in the Project Leader of the Year category. During the 2017-2018 academic year, Luke led Coker Enactus Women’s Empowerment in Myanmar project, which is currently fundraising in an effort to install a local business for producing low-cost sanitary napkins. This business venture will ultimately reduce the risk of illness, create a new business, empower women with consistent income, and help remove the shame women of the country have surrounding their monthly menstrual cycles. After graduating from Coker, Luke will be a consulting analyst with Cerner Corporation in Kansas City, Mo.

Enactus United States Leaders of the Year program is designed to motivate and reward excellence in leadership, and share best practices by example. The Student Leaders of the Year Award recognizes three leadership categories: Executive Leader of the Year, Human Resources Leader of the Year, and Project Leader of the Year. By May 14, three national finalists will be selected from each category. As regional finalists, Kendra and Luke will receive a Recommendation on LinkedIn from a U.S. Programs staff member, priority seating at U.S. Expo events, and recognition as a group during the Opening Ceremonies at the U.S. Expo in Kansas City, Mo., May 20-22.
