FCA: Fellowship of Christian Athletes

By Nicholas Beiers ('20), Coker College Digital Campus Ambassador and 2018-2019 SGA Chief Public Information Officer

Next up, we have FCA!

FCA, also known as Fellowship of Christian Athletes, is the newest student organization on campus. FCA became an RSO (Registered Student Organization) in February of this year. FCA is also one of the quickest growing RSOs here on campus with over 25 members. “[FCA is an] interdenominational Christian sports ministry group to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes,” states President Haydon Norwood.

Haydon continues, "[At Coker College,] we are one big family here, no matter if you play a sport at school, play sports outside of school, or simply like to watch sports, FCA is for you. It is also important to know that no matter what you believe in, you’re welcomed here."

FCA meets every week, all year-round. In addition to weekly meetings, they also host events throughout the year. Most recently, FCA hosted a ‘Night to Shine’ event at a local church to celebrate God’s love for people with special needs. Night to Shine has become a world wide movement, and through Coker College, that vision has been able to expand even greater.

Remember, you do not have to play at sport at Coker to be a member! If you would like to join, contact Haydon Norwood at FCA meets weekly at 8:00 PM on Wednesdays!
